02/02/2012: Punctuality to Lessons

Unley High School values prompt attendance at lessons as it supports engagement in learning for all students.

Students who are late to class miss out on key routines and miss important information, including concepts and work requirements.  Lateness affects academic progress as the beginning of the lesson provides optimal learning time. It can be symptomatic of health issues that need to be addressed and can also create tensions as it is frustrating, annoying, disruptive and time consuming. Lateness causes a loss of instructional time for everyone. Habitual lateness shows a lack of respect for teachers and other students.

We ask families for their support in this matter.
